Hello everyone! Welcome to Obscure Sorrows!

The multifandom challenge is simple. To sign up, just leave a reply stating a letter (see available letters at the end of this post), and I will assign you a random word starting with that letter and a link to the definition. These words come from The Dictionary of Obscure Sorrows.

Then, you must create a piece of fanfiction that somehow uses your word. It does not have to be the word itself (though I do ask that you put it in either the title, summary, or notes of the fanfic), but it must somehow have an example of it.

If you do not like or do not have any ideas for the word I have assigned you, please feel free to request another. However, I ask that you do so in the same thread you requested your first word, so as to avoid clutter. There is no limit as to how many times you can request a word.

You may also write multiple fanfics for multiple words, if you'd like.

Your fanfic(s) must be submitted to the AO3 collection before 11:59 p.m. PDT on the 28th of July. The collection will be made visible at 12:00 a.m. PDT on the 31st of July.

I would also like to add that you can sign-up during the entirety of the event. If you stumble upon this on the day before the deadline and you think that you can create your work in a day, by all means, go ahead. I typically respond quickly, so that shouldn't be much of a problem.

1. Yes, as long as the chapter contains the feeling your word depicts. Make sure to let me know which chapter it is for the round-up post.

2. Yes. Again, as long as it has the feeling. You'd have to link it to me, though.

3. It would be nice, but definitely not an obligation. There isn't really much I can do (I think) as discipline if you, say, don't finish your work in time. Your work just wouldn't be featured on the round-up post, or the AO3 collection if you decide to post there. Obviously, don't be annoying (not that I think you would) and request a prompt only to not try to create something at all, because then it just goes to waste.
